What are Digestive Bitters?

Digestive Bitters have had a place on my kitchen counter for years now. I always travel with it and it's my first go to item when I have an upset tummy! We added our new Digestive Bitters to our tincture line up this winter and it has been extremely popular; even more importantly I hear how it is benefitting people.

Are you familiar with bitters for digestion? Is this a part of your routine? Here is a little more about one of our newest herbal offerings!

Time to run a little Cabin Fever Sale to celebrate the end of the Winter Farmers Market season and chase away the end of Winter! A few select items will be on sale both at the Farm Store, as well as at March Winter Markets!

About the one time a year you'll catch some of these items on sale.

March 7th and 21st will be the last time you find us at the Mankato Farmers Market until August!! (When apples come in!)

This is a great time to stock up on tinctures, and build your herbal medicine cabinet.

About 4-6 weeks remaining of our season for Winter Organic Greens!! Be sure to enjoy them while they last!!

What is an Herbal Tincture?

Herbal tinctures are one of the main components of our medicine cabinet. They are a great way to build your holistic medicine cabinet.

These highly concentrated liquid herbal extracts are perhaps the most popular form of herbal medicine, alongside teas.

Herbs (fresh or dried) are macerated in alcohol to extract their beneficial properties. Glycerin or vinegar may also be used, but will not last as long.

We have used herbal tinctures for many years, with great success. With proper resources we have used them for our youngest since he was born.

Now that he's older I find great joy in including him in the tincture making process and and proud he will grow up with these skills.

We began offering herbal tinctures several years back, as I want to share this resource with our community. We have offered several tinctures in our line up, and added a couple over the years. Our Herbal Sore Throat Spray and Digestive Bitters tincture are blends of herbal tinctures.

Holy Basil, Stinging Nettles, Ashwaganda, Elderberry, Willow Bark and Astragalus are featured in our offerings.

Our tinctures are made from locally foraged plants, farm grown plants or purchased Organic from Mountain Rose Herbs.
